Referral and service FAQs
Suitability depends on location, consent, funding pathway, clinical need, risk and availability.
Funding and referrals
Do you see NDIS participants?
Yes. Tandem Physio can consider suitable NDIS referrals for neurological, respiratory, mobility and complex disability-related needs.
Do you see plan-managed and self-managed clients?
Yes. Tandem Physio works with plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants where the referral is suitable and service arrangements can be confirmed.
Do you work with iCare/LTCS, DVA, HCP, workers compensation or private clients?
Suitable referrals under these pathways can be discussed. The next step usually includes confirming service fit, approval requirements, billing pathway and availability.
Can families or support coordinators refer?
Yes. Families, support coordinators, case managers and providers can refer when the client or authorised representative has consented.
Service suitability
What areas do you service?
Commonly considered areas include Western Sydney and The Hills District. Availability depends on location, timing, clinical fit, funding pathway and current capacity.
Do you see people in group homes?
Group home referrals can be considered if consent, location, access, funding and clinical fit are appropriate.
Can Tandem Physio provide one-off assessments?
One-off assessments may be considered where the referral is suitable and the purpose is clear, such as functional review, risk clarification or practical recommendations.
Can Tandem Physio provide ongoing therapy?
Ongoing therapy may be considered where regular support is clinically appropriate and service arrangements can be confirmed.
Reports and communication
Do you provide reports?
Reports and recommendations can be provided where clinically appropriate. Documentation is linked to function, risk, goals and therapy recommendations.
Do you work with support workers?
Yes, where appropriate. Training may focus on mobility support, transfers, positioning, pacing, exercise routines and risk awareness.
What information should be included in a referral?
Helpful details include suburb, funding pathway, broad referral reason, current functional concern, consent status, preferred contact person, known risks and whether reports or training may be needed.
What happens after a referral is submitted?
Tandem Physio will usually review the referral, clarify location, consent, funding pathway, clinical fit and availability, then advise whether an assessment or next step is appropriate.
Appointments and safety
Do you provide urgent or emergency care?
No. Tandem Physio is not an emergency or crisis service. For urgent medical concerns, contact emergency services or the person's medical team.
Do you provide hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is not currently advertised as a routine Tandem Physio service. Suitability for any water-based therapy request would need to be discussed before referral.
Still unsure about fit?
A brief enquiry can help clarify whether Tandem Physio is likely to be suitable before detailed information is shared.
